Hi Everyone
I was contacted by someone. Ron has an autosomal match at 23andMe.
This person said he believes we match on the surname Allen or Morgan. His step son is a geneticist and he believes this is where we match because this person matches one other person and they both match on the surname Allen and Morgan. This would be Ron’s 4th or 5th grandmother.
Does anyone have a Lewis who married an Allen or Morgan. This would be before 1784.
His Allen ancestor lived on the New York Vermont boarder. This land was disputed and is now part of Vermont. His ancestors are from Charlotte, Chittenden, Vermont.
Dianne always thought our Lewis’s were from Vermont. We had a trip planned before she died to see what we could figure out. Now it is up to me. Any help appreciated.

I really don't know anything more than what Delbert Franklin Lewis wrote in "Twelve Generations of Lewises in America" 1634-1997; as all that was news to me when I became email acquainted with the author's daughter via A.com DNA matching about 6 yrs ago. There are many Allens and a couple of Morgans in the index of said tome.
If you do not have a copy, please let me know. One of our Lewis cousins who does not have his DNA with this group, has scanned the book for emailing. This book is available on Amazon....
I really cannot get further back than 1775 with documents. As Daughters of the American Revolution is my primary hobby...There were many Lewises in New Jersey at the time of the War; very difficult to prove my primary Ancestor, Edward Lewis Jr's parentage thru documents.
