I wanted to share this with all of you.

Ron’s cousin found this photo of Ron’s Great Grandfather Charles King Lewis b. 1829 and d. 1855

We were excited to see what he looked like.

I have been looking for records in New York. So far no luck.

I sent this picture to Diane’s daughter and she said he resembles Diane’s great Grandfather.

I will keep you all posted if I figure out who Asa Lewis’s father was. I have looked in Montgomery County New York. I was told where I should look next by Montgomery County NY.

Yes, definitely a family resemblance to my great grand Charles Henry Vhreland Lewis!

Fair hair, blue eyes, large forehead, just as mine!

If there is something specific, I'm willing to dig into the DAR database for you.

I am trying to find his parents. I don’t know who they are. 

I know he was from New York and served in the War of 1812 from Delaware County New York. However the year he was born it part of Montgomery County New York. I paid for research to be done their and no records. Also no records in Delaware County either. 

They told me to look in Tyron name was changed to Montgomery in 1784. 

Here is where Montgomery County told me I might find him. 

I was told to look at Herkmer formed in 1791, Oswego in 1791 Diane’s Lewis’s John W was from here. He was born 1810. We matched and were working together until she passed away. We were looking for his parents too. We figured that we were on generation apart.

His wife was Susan Standish. She isn’t Daniel Standish’s daughter. She isn’t named in his Will. 

I met a Standish male who Ron matched. He said his DNA doesn’t match Myles Standish.

He served in the War of 1812 from Delaware County New York. However the year he was born Delaware was part of Montgomery County New York. I have done paid research in Montgomery and he and his parents aren’t here. I have also looked in Delaware county and he and his parents aren’t  here either. 

Tyron name was changed to Montgomery county the year he was born in 1784. I haven’t checked this yet. This is my next place to start looking.  

Anything you can find would be helpful. It would be nice to connect back to Edmund Lewis of Lynn. 

If you find mine you will find Diane’s Lewis’s John W Lewis born in Oswego formed in 1791. We figured we were one generation apart.
