Hello and Happy 2025!

I hope you all are enjoying a wonderful holiday season and a great start to the year! We are so thrilled to jump into 2025 activities in Curtis Park and experience yet another amazing year in the neighborhood.

If your New Years Resolution was more community events, you are in luck! Next Wednesday (Jan 8th) is the CPN Annual Meeting and Neighborhood Potluck. As a reminder, the potluck assignments are as follows: A-G entree, H-P appetizer, and Q-Z dessert. If your dish requires a serving utensil, please bring that as well. We can't wait to see you there!

If you are looking for other resolutions, Stephen added a few ideas in this month's newsletter. Go check them out! You will also see some great information on the Mestizo-Curtis Park pool, a new ceramic studio in the neighborhood, and some valuable insight into trees in CP. A quick read, but as always, a great read :)

Feel free to reach out with any questions and make sure you're signed up for our email distribution lists! Have a superb January, Curtis Park!

Thanks Sarah,

For those of you that don't like military time, the holiday party/annual meeting/neighborhood potluck is from 5-8pm.  Around 7pm we will recognize Times' delivery volunteers, elect new board members, and present the Bill West Award to a neighbor for their outstanding community service.

I hope to see old friends and meet new neighbors next Wednesday at The Savoy @ 5pm.

A small correction… 24 time format is not specific to ‘military time’.

While often referred to as military time here in the US, the 24 hour time format is used in a number of fields - aviation, navigation, healthcare and many other scientific fields.

In addition, many European and Asian countries use this format, so it may be useful for those traveling worldwide in the future.

Perhaps we take this as a learning experience - 24 hr time starts at 0 and ends at 24.

As such…

Any time from 0000 - 1159 is AM.
Any time after 1200 is PM.

For example:

0100 = 1am

1300 -1200 = 1pm

In this case 5pm is calculated as such…

1700 - 1200 = 5pm

Simple math and alternative ways to look at things is fun!

Give it a try!
