Pack 193 - Happy New Year! Pinewood Derby Workshop

Good morning!

I wanted to let everyone know about a Derby Workshop we will have on Tuesday, January 16th.  This workshop will give you and your scout an opportunity to cut in the rough design of your Pinewood Derby car, do some sanding, possibly set your axles, etc.  You likely would NOT be able to complete the car at this workshop, but you can get a good start.  Note, the way the calendar falls this year, there will only be a week and a half after the 16th to have your car completed by the race.  For some, this workshop may not leave enough time to complete your car. I am not sure if there is anyone else in the Pack with resources that might wish to open their home/garage/workshop up prior to the 16th, on a different day or weekend.  If so, please feel free to respond to this email with a date and time you would be willing to do so.

Attached are the Pinewood Derby build rules to ensure a "legal" car.

Weigh-in and Registration

Friday, January 26, 2023
Track set-up and car weigh-in and registration - scouts must bring their
car Friday night to be entered into the races on Saturday

Time:
6:00pm - 8:00pm (drop in) - please note, we will be closing shop at
8:00pm. All cars will need to have any final modification made and
entered prior to 8:00pm.

Location:
Christ United Methodist Church located at 301 E. Drake Road, Fort
Collins, CO 80525

Race Day, Pack Meeting and Breakfast
Saturday, January 27, 2023
Time:
8:00am - 12:00pm - we will start with a pancake breakfast and move
into the races

Attire:  Class A uniform
