Unrecognized function or variable 'TranslateSBML'.

Hello everyone,

I want to run the MitoCore model on my Matlab, but when I initCobraToolbox, and tried to load the model from a .xml file, it says "Unrecognized function or variable 'TranslateSBML'." , and then I tried to read the .xlsx version, and it says Excel is not installed. I'm working on a MacbookPro with macOS Catalina. I tried to reinstall CobraToolbox, but it doesn't help. I really need some help! Thank you

Hi Iris,

It looks like that libSBML is not installed properly in your Mac. Can you try following this https://synonym.caltech.edu/software/libsbml/libsbml-docs/installation/ and check if TranslateSBML is properly added to your matlab path?

Hi Iris,
some people have been having issues with the submodules not being
populated. Can you please clone the cobra toolbox again, run
initCobraToolbox and see if the problem persists? If so, then follow
up on Lin's suggestion.
