Sorry for the incomplete post--just wanted to get the message out there asap for the birders in the immediate area.

Currently in a large sprawling tree in Deer run NA, just south of the Hagerman recycling.

Flew in from the south, beyond the tall utility towers.

Viewing it now from the southern end of the rest area by the dumpsters.

At 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning (Dec 19th) the Harris’s Hawk was still present in the location Larry described, just north of the farmhouse just north of Prospect and the welcome center.

I looked unsuccessfully from 1:45-4:45 today.I won’t pretend I wasn’t disappointed. But, this is a great place to go birding. I recommend to anyone chasing the hawk that they walk around and see what’s there!

Checked the area that was reported, the neighborhood to the west, and hung around the recycling plant for 2 hours from 2-4pm and didn't have any luck with the Harris'.

4 trips, 4 strike outs...
