This morning while driving north on Hover Road near Boston and Golden Ponds, there was a pair of ospreys flying in what looked like courting. I couldn't stop, and was driving about 35, but thought maybe this is the pair from the fairgrounds nesting pole nearby.

After getting a email from Scott Severs, who also saw this amazing spectacle, I need to correct the error that these guys were likely immature Bald Eagles (it is not the first time I have mistaken juvenile eagles for osprey from a distance.) I was driving and was going on a quick impression, and also the mistaken idea that immature eagles don't conduct courtship flights. So please excuse the mistake, and certainly the osprey will be returning soon, but not in early March.
