A Ruddy Turnstone was reported to eBird this morning by others. I confirm that it is still present on the south side of Rigden Reservoir at Arapaho Bend Natural Area in southeast Fort Collins.

The bird was seen by Pablo, me, then Rachel Hopper, then Beth and Cole Sage.  When I left at 1:50 it was on the north shore about midway from the north-central shore to the nw corner.  Could be identified from the south side using a scope but a walk of a mile and a half around the west end to near where it was would be more rewarding.  The darn mowing by some entity with the City of 3 feet of the rank grass and weeds along the gravel trail (for what meaningful purpose?) spooked the turnstone once.  If you don't see it in the nw part of the res, scan the whole res.  Pablo originally showed it to me on the south side about 3/4s of the way from the parking lot to the sw corner pump house.

A Sanderling accompanied the turnstone as it turned stones.  Only other shorebirds present were avocet, killdeer and spotted sandpiper.

Thanks to whomever found these birds and to Nick for posting on COBIRDS.

The Ruddy Turnstone is currently being seen in the small gravel pit on the south side of Horsetooth Road directly across from Rigden Reservoir.
