Besides a mandatory "congratulations!" for your new job, this does
leave me a bit worried about CB, as you've been doing a lot to keep
things moving, especially with some of the "not so fun" things like
adding tests, dialyzer, and so on.

There seem to be a lot of bugs though, so the thought of no one at the
helm of the ship is making me a bit nervous, especially because I'm
not sure about the state of the tests.

Any ideas about how to go forward from a community point of view?

+1 cb future seems to be uncertain under this circumstances. I believe that every member of the community doing it's best to contribute, but we need somebody, who will be familiar with cb internals.

We should have some news about Zach's replacement in a week or two.

Hi team,
I have free time to spend for CB. I'm agreed with Ilya that we need someone knows about internal CB for reference.

Hi,

Let's say vacancy is open and it will be not empty for too long. Major target is to continue improving code and providing support to community. New features are not forgotten too, but depends on level of community involvement. Zach did great work for last two month and it's just a beginning. Version 0.8.10 or 0.9 expected to be released next week, as soon, as major issue with erlydtl will be solved. Zach moved to new job, but we earned great new community member, once you are Boss, you will stay Boss forever! :-)

Hi,

I think ultimately the healthiest thing would be to have some kind of
community-style project similar to how the Apache Software Foundation
works, so that we are less dependent on one person leaving. In any
event, though, I'm glad the support exists to pay someone to work on
it full time.

I really hope that with some tests and dialyzer and whatnot in place,
things are a little bit more approachable: it's easier to bravely wade
into hacking on projects where you know the test suite will give you
some protection against accidentally breaking everything.

Thanks to everyone involved!

What we need is not one person but a community of people who can all
take part, if someone can be full time on the project that would be
great, but having 8-10 folks who are involved and active would be better.

Hi,

As Zach wrote above, CB is open-source community-supported project. Because community is too small now, we need full-time developer to make major part of work. But in the future having some non-profit CB foundation is a real option, it all depends on CB development. Any help is highly appreciated.

Is there an existing "roadmap" somewhere?

We have started building a fairly big project using CB as the backend and AngularJS for the frontend
I have 3 full time developers working on it and am planning to add more, unfortunately we are just
getting started with Erlang and are still learning, we are running into some problems when testing
simultaneous users but that is most likely due to our inexperience with CB and Erlang.

the demo is up here http://dev.gamblingq.com:8001/review#/review-list and is a simple CRUD running
with AngularJS on the frontend and an API on top of CB

As we grow and become more experienced, I would like to have my whole team contribute back
to CB and I am willing to allocate resources, we just need to gain the necessary experience first.

I can echo Karim here. I am learning CB but have a long term project and firm plans to commit work back to CB

It's dated, but there's one on the wiki:

Hi,

Glad to hear it! Since I needed things to be working for the rest of
my team, I've done a number of changes in my own fork(s) including

* Fixing Erlydtl / rebar
* Some work on the compiler - all the lager stuff was being ignored before!
* New epgsql with some additional features.
* Using updated version of mochicow.

I'm not sure how to best transfer all this into the main CB, but I'd
be happy to work on it a bit.
