Hi

I am unable to hide tiers in Clan, such as hiding 'LG' tiers. There is no option to be able to even hide tiers, the only option is to 'hide dependent tiers', but this doesn't do anything.
I have attached a screenshot of what my 'mode' shows.

I am using MacOS version 12.6 and ClanC (Which is the newest version as I have undownloaded CLAN and redownloaded it).

I hope anyone can help as it will speed up my undergrad dissertation research.

Thank you in advance.

Amrisha

Dear Amrisha,
You screenshot shows “CHAT Mode” checked, not “Hide Tiers”. In any case, if hide tiers somehow doesn’t work, you could even use the TRIM command in CLAN to permanately remove the tiers.
There is no LG tier in CHAT. Perhaps you mean @LG or maybe %lg, or maybe @Bg:

Amrisha,

Hiding tiers in CLANc has not been implemented. In old carbon version of CLAN it created editing problems and made CLAN unstable. CLANc has "Hide dependent tiers" feature. This mode hides all dependent tiers, i.e. the ones that start with %. This mode will not let you select any specific tier(s) to hide. This puts CLANc in read only mode to avoid editing bugs.

If you want to work with sub-set of your whole data file, then you can use TRIM command to create smaller version of your data file that will include only tiers you are interested in.

Leonid.
