Hi everyone, this time I'm trying to use Chinatipy for calculate the spectrum of isothermal spectrum X-rays from the temperature and emission measure of the X-rays Flues GOES (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites).

I don't how to change the unit of the CHIANTIPY spectrum intensity:

erg seg^-1 cm^-2 sr^-1 Å^-1

I need to change to units of the spectrum to GOES Flux:

W/m^2

Would you help me?

I’m always confused at this point too. But

may have de-mystified this.

If you check CHIANTI Technical Report 3 (https://zenodo.org/records/10452660), Sect. 10 explains how to convert from intensity to flux units when computing synthetic spectra with CHIANTI. I discussed this with Brian Dennis while he was preparing his paper, so they should be consistent.

Thanks, Peter
