Firefox v94 seems to have some security issues it won't get thru with.
I can't sign into The NY Times page with Firefox, but I can with Safari.
Firefox is my default.

Is there a way to open NY Times webpage with Safari with QS?

The only thing that matters is playing the right note at the right time, do so and ya got music.
Play the right note and the wrong time, or the wrong note at the right time and ya got noise, unless you repeat it, then ya got Jazz…

If the URL is selected in QS, you can use the “Open URL With…” action.

If you’re talking about having the system automatically do this every time, you’ll want something like Browser Fairy.

Either of these methods are no faster than doing "manually". Darn the Luck ! ! !
I think this may be a candidate for a script.  Now to learn how to script. ;-)

It's been a while, but could you create a trigger for:

Safari Current Web Page, Open URL With..., Firefox

This way, for any page that safari doesn't render, you could hit the key to have that url open in Firefox. It wouldn't be automatic for NYT urls, but it's only one hotkey and it would work for any such problematic page.

Rob & Howard,  I changed the trigger for the NYT in general (Cmd/Cntl/opt/shift/N aka capslock), which opens with my default browser, Firefox.

Action - Open URL with
Target - Safari

Looking at Howard's method, why can't I see 'Safari Current web page' anywhere to be able to get it into the top slot of a new Trigger?  Any clues would be much appreciated.  Or am I losing the plot on how to create a trigger?

It's a proxy object, it's called Current Web Page. I don't know if it still works.

See the manual:

Still works. I use it every day.

Thank you men.  I've got this down now BUT when I invoke it, instead of being taken to the expected page, the url is always prefaced with:

 ***site:

What's that all about?  Any ideas please?

Sounds like you might be using “Current Website”, which is a way to search the current site for something. You want “Current Web Page”.
