Hi all,

I'll be out of town for a large part of this year, and even the time
that I am here, I will be rather busy. As such, I don't really feel up
to running this meetup anymore.

If somebody wants to take the concept, mailing list, and/or website,
and do something with it, I'd be very happy to give them the reins. If
not, the thing will go into hibernation for a year or so.

Thanks for your participation the past (almost) two years!

Best,
Marijn

Hey Marijn,

First of all — thanks for being such a great host. It takes a lot of effort to run a meetup like this (and so consistently). This didn't go unnoticed.

Second — what are your new plans? Will you be implementing more compiler-related things?

Regarding the future: I have way too much on my plate to run the meetup. So I really hope someone else will take over. I'll be happy to contribute in the future with giving talks, but can't promise anything else.

Again, thanks again for your great work.

Hello,

unfortunately I missed nearly of all the meetups because I lived in
Copenhagen, and am in Morocco at the moment. But from April on I'll be
back in Berlin and am happy to contribute.

Similar to Chris I'm not an organizing person, so if someone takes
care about a place with projector, and announces a possible meetup,
I'll happily join in and give talks.

I'm currently (since 2 weeks) working on a project [1] on top of
openmirage [0], which uses OCaml directly on xen (without any
operating system in between). This is so awesome (and a dream of mine
since at least 2005 [3]) that I'd be happy to talk about my experience
in OCaml and mirage at the compiler meetup in April or May.

And Marijn, I'm really sad you won't be in Berlin for most of this
year. Nevertheless I hope once you're in Berlin you've some time to
join in.

Cheers and all the best to all of you,

Hannes

[3] Unfortunately there's no video, but Andreas Bogk and myself gave
a talk at What The Hack (Dutch hacker camp) in 2005 titled "Phasing
out UNIX before 2038-01-19" (that's when 32 bit time_t overflows)
