Hey all,
Reminder here of the first Berkeley Linux User Group meetup of the month, and very first one of 2026.
Both the virtual and the in-person physical meetups start at 11:00am PST this Sunday, January 11th and go to 2:00pm or however late people want to participate.
Please see the currently available meetup schedule at https://berkeleylug.com/meetings graciously provided by Michael P for further BerkeleyLUG meetup details.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Was informed when we meetup participants last met at SoDoI Coffeehouse in December, that the coffeehouse will remain closed for a little while longer, but is set to fully re-open before this month's second meetup.  Therefore, will be again planning to meet at Philz Coffee in West Berkeley https://www.yelp.com/biz/philz-coffee-berkeley-12 for this Sunday's live meetup, unless anyone else has an alternate suggestion(??)

Let's all have a great 2026! :-)

FYI, I did pass by SoDoI yesterday.
They opened again (on the 7th) after being closed for Winter Break,
but they're not yet back to regular hours. Per sign in the window,
apparently through
this Su, their current hours are:
10a-4p M-F
11a-4p Sa-Su
So, don't get there (too) early.
And, hey, good news - get there at 11a this Su, and should have
absolutely no issue
with available space and quite wide open choice of space.
Cal classes/semester resumes on the 13th, so I'm thinking SoDoI will
be comparatively
light on Cal students this Su.

I presume, by other window signage, after this coming Su, they'll be
back to their regular
8a-5p M-F
9a-5p Sa-Su

Quite good news about SoDoI re-opening indeed :-) ...... SoDoI info via https://berkeleylug.com/meetings/
Will hopefully look forward to seeing Michael there in-person or/and via the virtual meetup (Jit.si Meet instructions below)
