Hello W7 team:

I encountered this error today that I have not seen previously (log file attached) when attempting to perform EN calculations:

w7-errror-optics5dll.png

This error included a failure to calculate SHGC and odd figures for Tdw-ISO for all but the base '500' ID system shown below. The '500' system calculated correctly.

Context: Phius calculates climate-specific performance values for U-COG as part of its fenestration certification program. We calculate the glazing package's performance at -10°C, and then nine other sets of environmental conditions to mirror climate zones 8 down to 0.
We reference the W7 .mdb file to use Glazing System table in our calculations. The calculator we've built pulls the SHGC values based on the ID (example: 500) in order to reference the climate-specific 501...509 values for U-COG and subsequently pulls the SHGC value from the incremented ID as well. The SHGC values on "climate specific" (incremented) records (501...509) are not supposed to differ from the "base" record, '500' in this instance.

You can see that record 500 calculated correctly:

...but 501 through 209 did not (501 below as an example):

W7 Settings: "Thermal Calcs" are set to 'EN673'. Database for optical data is the IGDB.
We are referencing what I believe to be a modified version of the LBNL Standards File 'prEN_410.std' which I can provide via a one-on-one email if necessary. I can also provide the Phius environmental conditions library that is in-use, though I'm not sure exactly where the issue resides.

We did not encounter this error on any of our other glazing packages for this simulation; we built eight glazing systems in total, and the other seven calculated as expected.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Best regards,

Michael Franco

Hi Michael,

Looking at the log file it looks like
it is looking for the standard file in
this folder:
C:\Users\Public\LBNL\WINDOW7.8\

Rather in where the standards are installed
by default:
C:\Program Files (x86)\LBNL\LBNL Shared\Standards

Please try copying the missing file
prEN 410 Table 2 AM1_0.ssp
from the default folder to the one in the error
message and see if that solves it.

Best,
Jacob

Thank you, Jacob! I moved the standards file from the 'Public' folder to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\LBNL\LBNL Shared\Standards' and the calculation worked as expected.
