Hi,

I recently changed to beancount v3 and figured out that the forecast plugin was removed.

I'm using it 20 times in my current beancount files and do not really want to convert all the [MONTHLY|WEEKLY] entries manually
and keep track on them.

Is there a clever way/3rd party plugin to be used?

When I need to convert the forecast entries, how would you do it in a easy, automated way?

Here someone managed to get the old plugin running with v3:

For me some information is missing, like where to put the forecast.py and why using plugin "my_private_leader.plugins.forecast" instead of plugin "beancount.plugins.forecast".
Does anybody has an idea how to get it running?

Thanks
Moritz

It tells python (via Beancount) as to where to find the forecast plugin. To start with, you could put the plugin in a directory in the same directory as your beancount file. Then, GenAI (ChatGPT, etc.) should be able to guide you through it even if you don't have a programming background. Good luck!
