Thanks Sam. What I should have asked is this, how can I convert

The Title of a book

to

<span style=“whatever” more stuff>The Title of a book</span>

Codes not foreseen by BareBones, more of a script operation I guess.

I’m sure our resident applescript fanatic could write you a script. :)

But now I’m wondering if there’s a way to apply a snippet to
already-existing text. (I don’t use snippets so I don’t know.)

We have foreseen many things :-), including -- but not limited to -- the ability to:

* Apply HTML tags & attributes via the markup panel (Markup -> Edit
Markup or Command-Control-M by default), per Chapter 11 of the
included manual, or to

* Surround the selected text with arbitrary boilerplate via a clipping
item, per Chapter 12 of the manual.

The main thing is can you identify the title in some way. If one can do that, then The rest is pretty eady to fall in place, but can you identify the title?
