Dear all,

The documentation includes two new sections:

- Domain geometry

https://basilisk.fr/Basilisk%20C#domain-geometry

- Grid allocation and deallocation

https://basilisk.fr/Basilisk%20C#grid-allocation-and-deallocation

enjoy!

Good morning Prof. Popinet

Professor i have a doubt regarding the documentation...

It says for multigrids "Besides the general properties above, the multigrid implementations add some functionalities not present in other grids, including non-square or non-cubic domains"

While for adaptive grids, it says "Adaptive grids are necessarily using the tree grids implementations (bitree, quadtree or octree). Note that the current implementations do not support non-square or non-cubic domains"

As per my understanding till now we can not use non-square or non-cubic domains with multigrid while we can definitely use tree grids for such domains.

At least, I am doing this in my simulations.

Kindly clarify on this.

Thank you, Regards

Yes, you can, please follow and read the link in your message:

I guess you are doing this using either:

- mask: which you should not use, since it is obsolete and will be
removed at some point,

- embedded boundaries

In either case your domain is still square or cubic but some parts are
masked out, which is not the same as the non-square/cubic domains the
documentation is talking about.

cheers,

Stephane
