Volume not found in catalog

Hi All, 

I wiped a couple of tapes and used: "delete volume all pool=Default" then selecting the volumes to delete, this worked to purge items from the database then I could manually use mt to rewind the tape.

However I now noticed that this action has screwed the catalog, my slot status show ? and "update slots" or "label barcodes" doesn't make them appear.

Any ideas?

Hi,

delete (as the name might imply) deletes to volume from the catalog
entirely. What you were looking for was probably "purge" instead.
You can re-add the volumes using the "add" command.

Thanks for the hint, that is really helpful to know. Is this what you mean? Not sure of the whole options needed like numbers
