Hi,

May I know anyone can advise how to configure Bareos in Windows client? We couldn't see any KB or article regarding the windows client configuration. So I have tried to configure the Windows client like Linux client configuration but it is throwing an error after running the job. Below is the error message,

==========
09-Dec 15:39 bareos-dir JobId 93: No prior Full backup Job record found.
09-Dec 15:39 bareos-dir JobId 93: No prior or suitable Full backup found in catalog. Doing FULL backup.
09-Dec 15:39 bareos-dir JobId 93: Start Backup JobId 93, Job=windows-backup.2020-12-09_15.39.33_06
09-Dec 15:39 bareos-dir JobId 93: Connected Storage daemon at localhost.localdomain:9103, encryption: PSK-AES256-CBC-SHA
09-Dec 15:39 bareos-dir JobId 93: Using Device "FileStorage" to write.
09-Dec 15:39 bareos-dir JobId 93: Probing client protocol... (result will be saved until config reload)
09-Dec 15:39 bareos-dir JobId 93: Fatal error: Connect failure: ERR=error:140943FC:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:sslv3 alert bad record mac
09-Dec 15:39 bareos-dir JobId 93: TLS negotiation failed (while probing client protocol)
==========

May I know is there anything needs to be done more for the windows client configuration? It will be helpful if anyone can provide steps that are to be done to create a client in the windows system and take backup for the same.

Thank you.

Never seen that error, but I run many windows clients to a linux director and storage and I found nothing special about the windows config other than the FileSet.

Did you setup shared key encryption? What version client, and director are you running?
Can you share your client config and your director config for the Client? (remove IPs/passwords)

I am not running shared key, and just use the built in PSK encryption which is automatic for recent version of Bareos. It’s much less error prone.
