Hello! I have a problem with Bareos backups. He makes a full backup in less than 2 days, although he should do a differential one.

There are two Synology NAS hosting shared folders. For their backup, I deployed a server on Debian 10 and Bareos of the latest version of Community. Mounted the mount.cifs folders, There are a lot of files, several terabytes, I split them into several tasks (7 pieces) and set on one schedule, in (one for all!):

Run = Level = Full 5th sunday at 03:30

Run = Level = Differential daily at 22:00

The schedule works well, all tasks are clearly set on time. In order to more flexibly manage my small disk space, I split full and differential backups into different pools:

Pool {

Name = WorkingFolders-Full # 1

Pool Type = Backup # 2 Recycle = yes # 3

AutoPrune = yes # 4

Volume Retention = 65 days # 5

#Volume Use Duration = 45h

Maximum Volume Bytes = 100G

Label Format = "WorkingFolders-Full"

}

Pool {

Name = WorkingFolders-Diffs # 1

Pool Type = Backup # 2 Recycle = yes # 3

AutoPrune = yes # 4

Volume Retention = 65 days # 5 #

Volume Use Duration = 23h

Maximum Volume Bytes = 100G

Label Format = "WorkingFolders-Diffs"

}

I don't use tapes, everything is on hard disks.

The problem itself:

And everything started well, he made a successful full-backup for tasks. But after a couple of days, I began to make a full backup again, although I should do a differential one. And what causes me more bewilderment is that for some tasks the schedule is correct, the differential is done, and for others it does only the full one (but they all have the same schedule).

Maybe I haven't configured something? Where do I need to specify that he makes one full backup and makes only diffs for 65 days? Or maybe the lifetime of a full backup, you need to put it somewhere. Help me please!

New year is coming soon, you need to make backups! The text was prepared by an auto-translator.
