I have had this happen with this same client several times. I did notice this time though that all the jobs to be consolidated were incremental that had no files bytes listed in the catalog. It is backing up a photo archive that many days has no new content. Thus the jobs will have no entries.

It causes consolidation to fail. The only way to get it working again is to delete the jobs it wants and after that it will work for a while.

Hi,

have you set
https://docs.bareos.org/Configuration/Director.html#config-Dir_Job_AlwaysIncrementalKeepNumber
in your config?

another thought which could help:

Please note that the Volume Retention (Dir->Pool) should be set to a very high value. This means that the value needs to be higher than the maximum time that a job might be kept on a volume during the always incremental backup scheme. The value needs to be more than Always Incremental Max Full Age (Dir->Job).

We suggest to set Volume Retention (Dir->Pool) to one year or 2-3 times the Always Incremental Max Full Age (Dir->Job). This makes sure that the jobs being stored on the volumes are not pruned prematurely.

When performing the always incremental scheme, the jobs are never pruned by the volume pruning mechanism. The jobs are pruned from the volumes after they have been successfully consolidated, so that the volume pruning mechanism should not trigger at all.

Yes all AI clients have the same setting. Our disk volume isn’t big enough so we migrate jobs from the AI-Consolidated pool to an LTO5 drive. This works in most cases allowing us to do AI jobs with only a single Tape Drive, as consolidations are always written back to the AI-Consolidated pool and then migrated.

Any thoughts on this? I tried cleaning out all the jobs with 0 files or ended with error (client offline) worked fine until it was time to include the full again (hit minimum number of incrementals) and started giving the error again

2021-01-03 10:44:55 myth-dir JobId 37512: Unable to get Job record. ERR=cats/sql_get.cc:273 No Job found for JobId 0

Thoughts?
