Thank you for your email and reminder.
Yesterday I went to the funeral of Peter Hancox, husband to Jenny who was once a church warden. Very well attended. The organist was Peter Overton from the Methodist church. I was reminded that David Fullman used to play at PP, and many other churches in the town. Do you remember Mark Brown, the previous vicar? He came back to take part in the funeral. He is aging extremely well and looked healthy.
Good news about the crater by the Willow Lea bus stop. It has now been filled in and tarmac laid over the top.
I changed plans to visit people in Burgess Hill, near Gatwick ariport, on Wednesday because it was just too hot to travel.

God bless you both

Chris

Hello Meg and Sylvia.

Well, am pleased to say that as of yesterday, it's gone much cooler here in The Wirral.

On Wednesday, we had a high of 33 C and that was as late as 6:30 pm.

Just over half an hour later, I was at our Folk Club with my friend Terry and we came outside whilst he Eclipse took place. Whilst I couldn't see anything, it did go a little cooler and I'm told it went a little darker at aht point.

Have had a nice week off work and will be back in the office on Monday.

Paul.

Hi folks.

At a personal level, I think this most recent heatwave has been the most challenging yet. The temperature in the central part of the Isle of Wight reached at least 31 Selsius on both Thursday and Friday, and even today, the mercury reached around 28, but the combined effects of the humidity and high pollen levels made it feel a bit warmer than that.

When the weather's that warm, I tend to do very little, particularly during the afternoon and early evening. Put another way, if I have any shopping or similar activities to attend to, I make sure I get into town reasonably early, so I can be back home again while the temperature levels are still reasonably comfortable.

Let's just see what the weather brings us next week.

Cheers, CB.

Hi Chris,

I think it will be much cooler in the coming week. Let’s hope so anyway.

Paul.
