You don't have to listen nowadays at the time, have you never heard of the
listen again facility plus the use of smart speakers (big, greasy grin)!!

For what it might be worth, I do have a smart speaker in my lounge, and yes, I happen to use it quite a lot.
So if anything, I was kind of joking about my need to multi task, the need for which will never entirely go away, even when the evolution of technology allows to spread one's listening habits beyond the transmission time of any given programme.
Next task, my visit to the polling station.
