Anyone got ECW enabled for QGIS 2.8 for a Mac?

Hi Marco,

Assuming that you're running a fairly recent macos, and you're using KungChaos's packages, then

1. You need to download KungChaos's ECW Plugin (this isn't part of the GDAL Complete package).

2. Follow the instructions in the Readme (which are pretty clear).

The hardest bit is downloading the SDK from ERDAS, which requires registering and pulling down a large download most of which you don't need.

(Ok, it's harder than widows is now, but much simpler than linux)

Hi Marco,

Yes, I did manage to use ECW with QGIS 2.8.2-Wein in Mac OS X 10.8.5.

I just check my installation a few minutes ago (i.e. open .ecw file)
and it works.

Just follow what Ramon suggested.
