What is Ratedeck in Ver 4.0.1

I am exploring with 4.0.1, found this new feature ratedeck, and related to it, calltype.

Read the manual, not much info there.

What is ratedeck actually for?

I am thinking of having 3 rate groups for user to choose with 3 prefixes.

So i created a large origination rates table that has 3 prefixes followed by country codes, so in effect, 3 x entries per dial code. eg. 900912xxxxxxxx, 901912xxxxxx, 903912xxxxxxx and etc.

The import failed halfway. What is my options to achieve that? I am thinking ratedeck may help? or it does not?

Ratedeck is to bring uniformity for the destination name. 

If you have created prefix with destination in rate deck and when you create same prefix (without destination name) in origination rate then system will fetch destination name, call type and country from rate deck. 

Example: 

Ratedeck Table: 

Prefix: 9199

Destination name: India Mobile

Country: India

Call type: Mobile

Now create origination rate with 9199 prefix (without destination name) and here you will see it automatically selected other fields information from rate deck table.

So it is a lookup table of destination names for origination tariff tables prefixes, in order to have uniform destination names in all tariff tables.
