Hello all,

Just a shot in the dark here, but does anyone in the group have the know-how to modify the ABox source code to make it a 64-bit app?

ABox is one of those apps I use almost daily and, despite searching for alternatives, I just can't seem to find another modular synth app that I get on with the way I do with ABox.

Anyway, I hope you've all had a pleasant holiday and are doing well.

Cheers!

John

Oh, I didn't realize that. I have it for the last build (2.42). Unfortunately, I don't have the MASM knowledge.

Can you upload the code and any libraries? I might know someone...

I believe the sources were auto-converted (by Google) from their obsolete Google Code repository.

Thank you, William. That's everything I have.

I have the 2.42 source zip file I downloaded same time as the binary - I'm trying to get visual studio 2019 to build it x64, but so far it's not recognizing the "all" target.  Will keep fooling with it, and post any success here.

The readme file has instructions on how to do the build using several different tools, let me know if that's not in the the github package.

Hello Lorne,

Forgive my ignorance, would it really be as simple as building as an x64 application, or is there more involved in terms of internal processing (i.e. code changes)?

Thanks!

Well I would think it should pretty much compile directly, but there may be library/include reference issues with something that old - APIs that have changed, different versions of Windoze libs, etc.

Once it actually starts compiling that will all become obvious pretty quickly.

It may compile using some of the other methods in the _how_to_build.txt file, I just don't have those methods available without installing other stuff, so first trying what I do have (Visual Studio nmake and masm).

Thanks for that explanation...and for your efforts!
