I could install Alt-F on my DNS-320L but now it's 2 days i'm trying to understand how to use it and I don't understand anything.
The FAQ, Wiki or images are not helping me (eider the AI !)
Is it somewhere a tutorial?
Thanks
V

Please clarify.  You state "I could install Alt-F".  Do you mean that you started the Alt-F install on your DNS-320L and it has been 2 days since you started the install?  Can you still access the web interface?

Simple. Management of Alt-F is via a web page.
Suppose your DNS-320L is at 192.168.1.99, you open a web browser page to that address. On the (default) status page you will find a number of links.
First look at the options in the "Setup" section. Check each section, "Host" will want settings related to your network, what you put into "Time" depends where you are in the world, and may already have your correct timezone. "Mail, "Proxy" and "Hosts" (note the plural) do not normally need changing at this time. "Users" is who on your LAN has access to user folders. Ignore "Debian" for now, and "Folders" should setup where on your NAS you want to put files. You have to create folders before you can share them.
The "Disk" section may not be needed if your NAS previously had the Dlink software on it, If you want to wipe old content or configure new drives the "Wizard" entry is the easiest method to get things done, although you need to carefully read all the options.
When you have drives configured and folders created, the next thing is to share them.
Select the "Services" link, and the "Network" item, the only one you need to work on at this time is the "smb" line. If it says "Running" click "StopNow", if "stopped" click "Configure".
In your "Host details" box make the "Workgroup:" match whatever your PC's use, if anything.
In the "Folders to export to other hosts" box disable anything you do NOT want shared, and create entries pointing to the folders you created earlier. Give them a "Share Name", this is what you will see on your PC. The "Comment" box is optional, but may help you later to remember what each share is for, select an option from the "Allow" drop-down box, and make each share both "Browseable" and "Inherit Perms".
Finally enable SMB2, and if needed SMB1 on a temporary basis. Click "Submit"
If you need to reboot the box, it is in the "System","Utilities" section.
When all this is done, on your PC (assuming you run Windows) "Map Network Drive" (or is it "Map Network Share", I don't have a windows box here to check) and enter the credentials you created in the "Setup","Users" section.
If you are on Linux create an empty folder in /media to mount the share to, e.g. /media/yourshare
"sudo mount -t cifs //192.168.1.99/yourshare/ -o cred=/etc/cifs-cred,dev,noexec,rw,iocharset=utf8,vers=2.0 /media/yourshare
Obviously replace the IP address and share name with the values you established earlier.
You can add a line to /etc/fstab similar to above,
# Mount NAS share
//192.168.1.99/Media/ /media/yourshare/ cifs cred=/etc/cifs-cred, dir_mode=0755, file_mode=0755, _netdev,rw,noexec,iocharset=utf8,nodfs,vers=2.0 0 2
All quite straightforward, but not necessarily obvious, especially for a windows user used to microsoft wizards hiding how things really work.
