Hi,

Some guidance would be appreciated here.

When I call the main function from
I get back a  list object that has a placeholder for the keyword annotations
however it is empty for all keywords in the set (I am referring to cases where annotations should be available, at least they in the keyword planner)
Eg.
text: "nike air max advantage"
keyword_annotations {
}
, keyword_idea_metrics {
  competition: HIGH
  monthly_search_volumes {
    month: JULY
    year: 2020
    monthly_searches: 90

All other standard metrics that are also available through the UI are there, but not the annotations.

Can you provide some guidance about how to access it? Thank you

Hello Alex,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Keyword annotations should be included as part of the GenerateKeywordIdeasRequest's fields. So our team can also check on this, could you share with us the complete logs (request and response with request-id)? You can get these logs by following this logging guide.

Please send the requested details via the Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, you may send the details directly to our googleadsa...@google.com alias instead.

Hi and thanks for your reply Mark.

Here's the solution in case others in the group face the same question.

Simply add to the code provided here , the following two lines within the main function:
    keyword_annotation = client.enums.KeywordPlanKeywordAnnotationEnum
   request.keyword_annotation = keyword_annotation
The response will include the associated concepts for each keyword.

Hi Aryeh

I hope the answer will be helpful to others.

One question that remains is about the difference between the keyword suggestion metrics provided via the API and those available via the UI.
I understand thanks to previous conversations here that this is expected behaviour since the backends are different.

That said, would it be fair to say data from the API might be a bit more fresh compared to the UI?
And generally, is there something specific that can cause the deviation between the two, or can we safely say that the delta is random noise?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Would you be able to link us to the conversation that discussed UI and API Planning differences so that we can verify this claim?

If you are seeing differences in the API vs. the UI, can you please provide us with the request and response logs and a relevant screenshot of the UI showing this differences?

Thanks,
Matt

The thread is from 2019 - Has anything changed with respect to this behaviour in the meanwhile?

Thank you.

Hi Alex,

If you are looking to retrieve the information of keyword planner in the UI using API, then I would suggest using the Keyword planning feature of Google Ads API. I suggested this because you can retrieve the information of keyword planner that closest in the UI using this API.

Let me know if you have questions with the provided suggestion.
