We're planning to ride something somewhere on Saturday, June 27th, but details are pending, and it may be last minute before plans are nailed down.
The forecast is hot wind out of the south. As in, 15-25 mph wind. And 97 degree high.
Options are:
-Suck it up and go ride 200k anyway
-Cut back on miles to miss some heat and wind
-Ride one of several one-way perms with tailwind (theoretically) and vehicle shuttle, the "Roast and Coast" option. We have 1-way perms from 100k to 240k or so. This involves a little riding and a lot of driving with two vehicles. And riding with a hot tailwind is not always the benefit one would imagine.
-Ride one of our more east-west routes and deal with sidewind instead of head/tailwind.
If you're interested, let me know and I'll keep you posted on what we (or I) come up with. Or if you have something going, let me know.
Thanks,
Stephen H
