In the September 2021 issue of MA, I had an article published about Tom Brett’s Cirrus.

Duane,  Thanks so much for your dedicated input to get the "Info" known. I really appreciate your passion and know you lived the the Brett days. Again, Thanks for your passion on the SPA and  vision of past R/C days..

At the time I included a small “side bar” article about the radio he used-one of the first proportional radios available. There wasn’t room for both, so the radio sidebar was dropped. I suggested I might submit a full article on early proportional sometime in the future about Don Brown’s Quadruplex, but didn’t follow up due to not having the determination to follow through with it.

About a year and a half ago, I revived the idea and started revising and expanding the original 800 word sidebar. A few months later in January 2025,  I submitted the finished article, and time went by. I’m glad to say that when I submitted it, I sent it to long-time former SPA president Bruce Underwood for his opinion and input-so far,  Bruce is the only person who had read the article.

Today I received a draft of the article layout that will appear in this May’s issue. It’s been so long that I told them I’m looking forward to reading it to see what’s in it.😉

My first article submitted to them was also a May edition, 20 years ago in 2006 where I first wrote about SPA. I’m fortunate to say this is the eighth article of mine they’ve seen fit to publish, (and chances are this will be the last one).

I hope you enjoy it.

Duane

I wouldn’t begin to know how to comment on “A Follow-up To Mr May 2006”…I have so many things I could say….

“Mr May” forgets the article wasn’t about him; he was only the “dashing” cover-boy for the article. Now , he’s not quite as “dashing” as 20 years ago, (but none of us are.)
