Anybody out there ever hang external stores from the lugs under the wings?  Just wondering if you could hang baggage pods out there.  I'm sure there must be some load limits published somewhere.

Type Yak 52B in your browser and look at Images and find the rocket pods hanging off a 52 from a Hind gun ship or something.

I have the first TW made. I was told as it was being built that the rocket pylon used on the Cessna O-1 Birddog was used as the template for the TW's wing pylon mounts.

Interesting?  I was told a whole different story.

I just contacted George Coy, who worked with the Romanians to make the TW a reality, and he confirmed that the factory used a rocket launcher pylon from a Cessna O-1 Birddog as the template for the TW pylon mounts built into the wing.  Borrow one from a Birddog owner and it should bolt right in. :-)

Hope that is useful to someone.

Did you see the pods on the Yak 52B?

Any Idea about what size pod or how heavy it could be loaded.  I think I can make the rack but need to decide on how to make the baggage pod.

Yes. Keep in mind that those pods are attached to a pylon, which is attached to the wing. The pylon used as the template on our TW's is the one bolted to the Birddog wing.

The pod in the photo I posted is a guided weapon prototype that is 7 inch diameter, 72 inches long weighing about 120 lbs. the pylons were custom designed for the Yak wing hardpoints. The pylons weighed about 30 lbs each including an electric bomb rack. That Yak was also carrying a 2 channel store control system and instrumentation.

Here's a good picture of the Birddog's pylon. A two rocket launcher was attached to the pylon.
