In case you've missed it here's Obie's talk about how they use Redis - http://blog.obiefernandez.com/content/2012/05/redis-on-rails-reddotrubyconf-2012.html. There's not that much in the slides, but the example code (https://github.com/obie/redis_on_rails) is pretty much self-descriptive.
