Hi all

I'm managing a large Rails project here at the Ministry of Social Development. We've got an exciting and meaningful programme of work through until about August next year for any Rails devs looking for Contract work.  Permanent roles are also a possibility for anyone wanting to take a greater role in building up the Ministry's Rails capability to respond quickly to important and emerging social programmes.  Full-time ideally, but we are flexible.

Regards
Peter

Speaking of which...

What's the scoop on the breaches? Were they network related or app
related? Can you give us the lowdown?

Hi Tim.

I cannot comment on this sorry. Different part of the organisation, plus I don't know anything more than what's already out there.

Cheers
Peter

Hi all.

The Ministry has just today listed the permanent job on it's website http://careers.msd.govt.nz/detail.aspx?jobId=111486&CoId=210&rq=2

Note, we are open to people from varied backgrounds, and are likely to take more than one candidate on depending on the fit of the person into the team.

We are ideally seeking experienced senior Ruby on Rails developers, but are also interested in experienced developers from other areas (e.g. Java) that could up-skill.

Similarly, those who may not have quite the development experience yet, but have taken the initiative to learn Rails and put a project or two together, then it is worth applying.

So this is for a permanent staff developer position here in Wellington.   I will post details shortly of contract Rails roles that we are also seeking (experienced Rails devs only)

So please look at http://careers.msd.govt.nz/detail.aspx?jobId=111486&CoId=210&rq=2 and put your best foot forward :-)

Cheers
Peter

Hi all

As promised, for those Rails developers looking for contract roles, we're now calling for candidates.

All contract developers should come to us via either Starfish or Fronde.

Starfish contact Kim Mills kim....@starfishconsulting.co.nz http://www.starfishconsulting.co.nz/who-we-are/kim-mills-5/
They have an ad for this on Seek... http://www.seek.co.nz/job/23529870

Fronde has an ad for this on their website http://fronde.co.nz/people/current-vacancies/  ("Ruby-on-Rails Developer")

Note:  Even though the ads state a 3-6 month contract, this can be through until August 2013 at least.

Cheers
Peter
