Being only a recent convert to web.py I can't speak for the developers, but I personally am interested in contributing to the project by making it Python 3 compatible, and according to comments here:  https://github.com/webpy/webpy/pull/172 web.py will support Python 2.3 until version 0.4.  I am not sure what sort of roadmap or timeline that lines up to.

i think webpy is less active than other framework like django or  flask .i use webpy for a while and i really like the way it works, just have a little of worry about the future of webpy!

The fact that web.py is "less active" is a major advantage for
me. web.py does more or less what it should, so I'm happy that
my application will (hopefully) not break tomorrow, when there
is an important bug fix. Python 3 support is desirable, IMHO.

you mean "backwards compatibility",yes ,that is good, but "developing actively" will be a good signal for someone want to use webpy on their real project, and that's means webpy user can get  good comunity support.

"Real project"? What do you define as "real project"? Since web.py was used to run Reddit as well as various search engines to smaller sites, that statement makes no sense.

If you're interested in contributing to the project, feel free to submit patches, and perhaps with enough high-quality patches, you'll become one of the core developers and do something about this "development activity" issue. Of course with keeping in mind, that quantity doesn't spawn quality.

And :"good community support" doesn't sound too good, either. PHP has this "good community support", and 90+% of the applications written in it are straight down garbage.

Yes, the plan to work on python 3 compatibility and build a simple
extension system.

These two are really cool features.

Sounds good to me, esp. Python 3!

Another (small) feature I like to see are sessions in memory.
I use a patch sent by Michele Petrazzo 2008-04-26 to this list
and I'm happy with it. Can it go into web.py?

Why not make a pull request for it?
