Just wanted to send out some updates about fun upcoming events.

1.  We have applied for a permit to run the "IDidaRace...to help save homeless dogs" dryland race in Park City on October 27th.  We are looking to have categories for 1-2 dog bikejor, scooter and canicross.  3-4 dog cart and a 5K run.  We will be able to finalize that date next week and get to work on making the even great fun for everyone.  We will post updates on utahpawpower.com, coloradomtnmushers.org and of course sled dog central.  If anyone wants to help out with the event, we are always looking for prize sponsors, course marshals, and extra dog handlers.  It would be great to have some t-shirts for the event too, but I would need help getting this done.

2.  The National Siberian Husky Speciality is in Provo Utah on October 2-6th at the new Utah County Convention Center.  The show will be a lot of fun with guest speaker Karen Ramstead, a rescue show case etc.  You can find more info about the show at http://www.shca.org/2012_specialty.html

3.  Arctic Rescue is hosting an informal Blue Moon Bash, this Friday at Racer's Cycle Service.  We will have some treats (for the dogs and people) at the shop then head out for a Blue Moon hike in Provo Canyon.  Don't miss this event, it happens only once in a Blue Moon :-)

4.  We desperately need a crew to get the winter K9 Challenge race going.  We need someone who will take on the responsibility of being a point person/ task manager for this event.  Please let me know if we have any volunteers.

Try to stay cool this summer and if you know of other fun upcoming events let us know.

Sincerely,

PUPP

I will help with any aspect...except fund raising. I could not raise 2 cents if I were a quadriplegic and my hair was on fire. Dunno why.

Will this event take place in the same location? (mountains out of the Cache Valley)  do we still have anybody in that area? Would make it easier if the point person was someone who could meet w/ forest service and local businesses, etc. in a convenient manner not having to drive for more than an hour.

Right now this race needs a "Project Manager" you can do that from anywhere, it will mostly involve emails and phone calls.  Amy is more than happy to help anyway she is able.  We made some good, face to face contacts at the Trails days event and some of us met everyone we needed to know, in person there.  I am happy to refer the project manager to local contacts (possibly St. Onge's will help and I will ask them) and to provide them with all of the contacts and known processes for getting this race going, but we need someone who can be a task master to get this going or once again, no winter race in Utah.
