Hi
I have an My Private Network (MPN) (Tunnelblick) account User Name
Rodney Martin. I opened it in Australia 3 weeks ago (Australian
Server). Worked great in Australia to get a UK IP. I used it in a
hotel 2 days ago in China to get a UK IP, no worries (Chinese server).
I just came to work on an offshore rig in China that is an American
company and has an American server (as shows up as an USA IP in "Your
IP address is" on the MPN web page. I can not connect to Tunnelblink
for a UK IP. I keep getting the message over an over as see below. It
seems like jkbull...@gmail.com and others on this blog are switched
on. Anything I can do? I am on a MAC bookPro version 10.6.7

Cheers Rod

You use MPN for VPN service, so you should contact them for tech support -- Tunnelblick is just free software that many VPN service providers recommend. (In other words, you're paying them, not us!)

That said, it looks like the local Internet connection you are using is blocking the UDP connection to the MPN VPN server. If you have other options (TCP, for example, or other servers) you should try them.

Hi JK

Thanks for the reply. MPN were quick on the response and tried (unsuccessfully) remotely to sort out the problem.

They tried to set up a connection
Seems the company I work for has blocked VPN's.

I know its not a Tunnelblick issue but have you got any ideas? see below what I get

company Ethernet

When I try to connect to the MPN they set up

I get this

Hi Rod,

I am afraid that it looks like your company is blocking all VPN access. The ping-restart message that you see repeating in the log file is the client timing out and trying to reconnect, it is doing this because the connection between you and the server is being blocked. The PPTP message indicates something similar.

The only thing you can do is talk to your network guys and see if there is any way around this.

If you cannot get around it, drop our support desk an email and we will arrange for a full refund.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the reply. I work on a offshore oil rig 28 days on 28 days off. So even though the company blocks me on the rig the program still works when I am home so I will still use it often at home to access BBC iplayer etc. So I am still happy to have it.

I guess your from My Private Network?

Great service BTW.

Regards Rod

Hi,

I have had a subscription for several years, great service. I have use Tunnelblick at work (I work away from home) and at home for a couple of years now, I tried to use Tunnelblick 3 days ago at work and it goes through the process of
Authorising
Getting Configuration
Connected
But only stays connected for a couple of seconds then Disconnects. I get the apple circle going around and around and have to quit Tunnelblick via the Activity Monitor. I recently upgraded my Apple software to OS X Yosemite 10.10 and this is the first time I have tried Tunnelblick since. Could it be a compatibility issue or something else?

To be honest the computer in general is slower and Im getting the apple circle going around and around since I upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10, so I plan to go back to the previous version of the operating system once I get home and can access my time machine backup point.

Regards Rod

Apparently Yosemite causes lots of problems, especially with WiFi connections. In fact, I just saw a new post about that, at
You should also know that Time Machine restores don't always work to go back from Yosemite to an earlier version of OS, so good luck!

If MyPrivateNetwork support can't help you (you should try them -- this Discussion Group is not affiliated with MPN), you could try following the instructions at Read Before You Post; perhaps there is something else that can be done to get your VPN working.
