how come my photos don't show my caption :(

It depends on what theme you're using. Different themes show and hide different things.

However, you may be able to edit the theme you're using so that captions will show. Can you give the link to your blog?

Yeah, it looks like the theme doesn’t support captions. But you can try adding support for them!

You can take a look at the custom theme documentation: www.tumblr.com/docs/en/custom_themes

Try making your photo block look like this:

{block:Photo}

<li class="post photo">

<img src="{PhotoURL-500}" alt="{PhotoAlt}"/>

{block:Caption}

<div class="caption">{Caption}</div>

{/block:Caption}

</li>

{/block:Photo}

Basically, you want to add the {block:Caption}{Caption}{/block:Caption} part after your photo.
