Hi,

I'm currently using the free version of TimeDroid.  I'm more than willing to pay for the pro version but only if the app is still under development.

What I really need is the ability to create, edit and send invoices.  Is this "in the works"?  It'd also be great to have multiple timers active at the same time, and to be able to save a timer without actually submitting it.  I bet I'm not the only Android user who is craving a full freshbooks experience.

Thanks

I just installed the free app and it is still not registering with Freshbooks as numerous prior posts have mentioned.

So now I wonder if Appoxy was doing some sort of pass-thru of our Freshbooks account info and have since dropped the pass thru yet still have our account info.  I am changing my token for now in the hopes that this will overwrite their record.

From the lack of activity, it appears that Appoxy is no longer supporting their app.

Hope I'm wrong, too bad.  -- Mike, Winzama, WA

Hi Mike,

There is no pass through or proxy or anything, it connects directly to freshbooks.

Most people solved their connecting issue by entering the correct account name as in the previous thread on here.

Timedroid is still supported and developed.

Hi Travis,

Thanks for the reply.  Sure was quiet here.

OK...well I tried my account and it failed to log in.  I have confirmed that my TimeDroid Account Name is only the subdomain ahead of the dot "freshbooks.com" and my token is my password (at least that is my assumption).  I get the "Failed to talk to Freshbooks.  Please check your account and authentication token."  I even tried my Freshbooks log-in ID in place of my account subdomain.  I've manually typed in the password into the web login just to be sure I have it right.  No luck.

In case the authentication token was not my account password, I used my web log-in as the authentication token in TimeDroid.  That did not work.  I am connected via WiFi just fine, can search Google fine.  I do not have a data account though.  And I'd using a LG P509 T (T-Mobile) with Android v2.2.2 and TimeDroid v1.3.0

I'm not a newbie and rather comfortable in Adroid and iPhone apps.  But for the Linux type reference to Authentication Token, which believe is the same "Password" used on the Freshbooks website, I am comfortable in saying the problem is not at my end.  All the comments are the same in the market.  Are we all screwing this up?

So, the reason I made my prior post is that in the Adroid market, for both TimeDroid free and paid, many users had either their access go dark around the same time (early June) or others have posted simple that it does log in correctly.  These comments are as recent as early June.  No response from Appoxy during all this time.  It appeared at first blush that Appoxy simply walked away.

So, Travis, it is not just me.  Therefore, what is the scoop on this login issue?  Is it related to the phone models, Adroid versions or what?  Does the paid version work?

Thanks much,

-- Mike

The token is not your password actually, you can find your api token in your freshbooks settings under the api tab. Give that a try.

Travis,

That worked and this is a very cool app to use for Freshbooks time logging.  Thanks for the help.

I think you should make this token issue at least a FAQ item.  It is not intuitive to expect a new app user to go to the Freshbooks website, drill down to the API support to find this token (with no mention on how to do it).  I suspect all other users with this problem used their Freshbooks account password as what was needed for the authentication token.  Somewhat similar to using the subdomin for the log-in rather than the more frequently used web log-in ID.

I think new users would be up to speed and less frustrated, rate the app higher and more likely to snag the Pro Version.  IMHO...Mike

I have an HTW Thunderbolt and my company wants to deploy this to all our phones in the company to use... but we keep getting connection refused unable to sync blah blah blah. Is this common now and will it not work anymore? Or do you have to buy the 5 buck version pro now in order to even try it to work.

Jason,

Did you get the token off the web after logging in and drilling down into the API for the token?  Travis held my hand or I'd have given up on the app.  It is not intuitive nor documented but it is a nice app.

No, you don't NEED the Pro app to get it working.

One consistently misleading thing has been the account name.  You do not need to include freshbooks.com - only your account name.

Try that.  Thx.

Cheers,

Alex

Hi Jason,

You don't need to buy the 5 buck version, it should work as is, but be sure you're using the correct account name and using the API token from the API tab in your Freshbook settings.
