I haven't had the opportunity to attend any beer ties nor meet any of you all out there, however te deso todo lo mejor in 2013!!  That is, I wish you all the best as we Puerto Ricans say.

I'll be down at 4mr tomorrow morning for the first time ever, if anyone may be interested let me know.  Or just catch me down there.

Welcome. Ojala nos encontremos en 2013. I am in vieques as we speak and did a bit of fly fishing today. We met someone on the beach who gave us some conch - made some fritters, ceviche and fried strips. Truly awesome to be here. Drinking coconut water and rum fresh from the side of the road. Happy New Year all and I wish you tight lines!

So, I was out yesterday at 4MR at 9:30 AM (right before peak of high tide) just south of the Toyota dealerships on the Airport side and had fish breaching repeatedly for about 2 hours.  Not sure what type of fish they were (one guy thought they were Shad while another thought they were carp.  I dont know for sure but I don't believe they are carp, couple fully surfaced and it was not the right shape) but no matter what I threw at them, they would not bite.  We tried small poppers, large walts poppers, clousers, wooly buggers along with other random dry flies but nothing other than a couple sunfish.  I moved down stream closer to the water outtake and the breaching stopped.  Anyone else see this and have any luck?

My guess is Winter Shad or Mud Shad.  Also known as Gizzard Shad. Not known to bite. Better known to snag.

I was out with Aaron yesterday as well. Hooked into lots of
aggressive "frenzied" bluegill.

Aaron, I ended up where we first linked up and managed to see 2 fish
rise up very close to me. They swam slowly and did not seem phased by
my presence at all. One swam just below where I was standing and
continuously came up for air. They had sucker like mouths.

I'm guessing suckerfish since they did were a dark hue and not bright,
golden, nor too keen like a carp?

I also spotted these under the bridge as I biked back. They were a
little larger than a football.
