Our monthly Beer Tie will be this Monday, from 7 to 9pm at Ri-Ra Irish Pub in Clarendon. Dan will post soon about club business, but I wanted to point out a couple of things:

-Rob Snowhite will be teaching at the beginner's table. This month's fly will be a generic bead-head nymph. If you have every wondered how they get those tiny little beads over the hook eyes and onto the heads of the flies, Rob is bringing the magic to you.

-I will be running another Iron Vise competition. Anyone who wants to play takes some of the Secret Ingredient, creates a fly with it, and turns that fly over to the judges. The judges will select a winner, who will receive a prize. The point isn't necessarily the competition, but to encourage folks to play around with new and unusual materials.

Hope to see you Monday.

Thanks for posting the reminder Miles.  At this month's BEER TIE, we will be collecting flies to benefit Potomac River Smallmouth Club with whom we've partnered up with in the past.  I will have a stripping basket present for members to drop flies they wish to donate into.  Tie and donate them on the spot, or tie a few in advance to drop in the basket when you arrive.  PRSC will use all donated flies to raffle off at club events for fun raising purposes.  Let's hook them up!  Looking forward to seeing you all there!
