I'm hoping this will be a significant hatch, I bet the smallies go absolutely bonkers for these things. Though, I don't think this is nearly as prolific as the Brood 10 hatch from 2004. This will likely be the last cicada hatch in this area for a while so it will be good to be ready for it in case it is big.

Know any reason why they float on thier backs? Are they top heavy? or is it that they rotate when falling and have a 50/50 chance of landing on back. Maybe they are then unable to turn themselves over? thinking about tying some up right side up and upside down. just for the hell of it and for some variety.
