I was fortunate enough to catch my first snakehead earlier this week...but I cheated a little and used electricity. I volunteered with VDGIF at Aquia Harbour and ended up pulling out about 30 snakeheads and 50 largemouth. The snakehead in the picture below is about 8 lbs--the largest of the day was 14 and change. There are some big largemouth down there, too. I can't believe people are fortunate enough to do this for their job on a regular basis! On a side note, I'm trying to bulk up my resume with some fisheries related experience for some summer jobs/internships. I'll be in the area for a couple months, and if anyone has any ideas or opportunities that might be relevant, I'd love to hear about them.Cheers,--

She did purse her lips when I got close--I think she was into me.We opened up 7 of them. One of them had a 5 or so inch fish inside. A couple of them had unidentifiable, digested masses and the rest were empty.

That's a bit too close to a snakehead mouth for me. Any chance y'all opened it up to see its gut contents?Electro shock boat was one of the coolest thing I've done.
