Haven't been recently but these are my favorite spots.  Any info would be very useful as I am planning to come down mid April.

Was there in November and canal levels were scary low, and river very wadeable.  Would be interested to see what conditions are like now.  Thanks for posting this.

Have any of you guys been out on the Upper Pmac lately? Around Pennyfield or Violetts? Levels look a bit high... but weather looks pretty decent this weekend!

We were up higher - Brunswick area - the weekend before last.  The temps are still the factor - The Doah side was more stained and about 45 degrees, the Potomac side clearer and about 41.  The few fish we took were from the warmer side.  I think the stained water gains sun heat faster and warms quicker than the clear flow so smallies are a bit more active.

Thanks for the insight! Haven't fished much up there - but am hoping to check it out this summer.

Pennyfield/Violettes/Rileys are definitely my favorite spots. Hoping to get out with my new hybrid duck boat over the next few weeks. Will let you guys know how it goes!

Congrats on the new boat.  We will have to talk duck hunting too.

Went out last Saturday with limited success - caught a few small bass and panfish. Was hoping to get out this weekend...not sure what the river will look like after this rain. My experience has been that things get real slow when the levels/current increase and the visibility decreases. Anyone else planning on heading out?
