Folks,

A quick question for more saavy G+ers than I.

Up until this morning, when I would go to a Google page (including Google Groups, Google Reader, and regular Google), at the top of the page, I would see a trio of clickable buttons related to G+.  One would be the Notifications count, the next would be the Share button, and the third would be my account.

As of this morning, Now I just have the normal drop down with my name which gives you the links for Account, Privacy, View Profile, etc.

I am using IE 8 (all I am allowed to use on my laptop as it is my work machine).

Any thoughts on what I can do to get the G+ buttons back would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

~Luke

I'll have to look at that this evening when I get home. I started at a new company today so I've been pretty busy and won't have to look at that until I get home.

Thanks Ed.

First off congrats on starting your new gig.  I remember you saying that it started today (over on G+, ironically).  Best of luck!

I am beginning to think that this is an IE 8 combined with the company firewall issue.  Sometimes (now, for instance, as I am typing this), the G+ buttons show up at the top of the screen, but if I click them, they either say that I am running in Compatiblity Mode (which I am not), or that the service is unavailable.  So I don't think it is a setting I can change, but a symptom of where I am accessing the Internet from.

I'll have to check it out at home as well... of course that will be on Chrome, not IE, so who knows.

I appreciate your response and again good luck with the new job.

~Luke

Thanks.
I have no issues seeing it. However, I am using Chrome at home. Also, it is very possible, if you are accessing from work, that it is being blocked.

By the end of the day it was working again.  Who knows?  Typical Microsoft -- performing the same task over and over AND getting different results.

Sorry, just getting to this now.  In Firefox, I see the usual trio of buttons.

On Chrome here at the house, I see them just fine.  I'm guessing it's IE8 and it's inherent instability and all-around lameness to blame.

Well, you already typed "IE8".  Wasn't the rest of your statement redundant?  ;)

Probably, but the reason why I noticed it is that the buttons worked fine up until yesterday morning.  Not sure why the behavior would change randomly.  Although again I guess "IE8" answers that as well.
