All right, I'll start: Avengers! Did you see it? Did you enjoy it?

Without going into too much detail, I rather enjoyed the movie.  It easily passed the "was it worth seeing in the theater" test.  I kinda dragged Andrea to it, and she ended up enjoying it much more than she thought she would. Bonus!

I also have a small request.  While we stuck around for the mid-credits scene, we did not stay for the one that was shown at the very end.  Can someone post a brief description of what occurred with some Spoiler Alert padding and warning?  (yes I suppose I could look this up on the interwebs, but what more definitive source than this forum?)

Much obliged.

Lot's of padding on this one... SPOILER ALERT!

That is correct, saw it last Friday night. The movie was amazing, the Hulk was amazing. I truly enjoy Downey and Ruffalo's interactions. There were TONS of one liners that I keep repeating over and over again in my head.

Hulk "puny little god"
Loki "I hate what comes after Thunder"
Stark "Take the high ground Legalos"
Steve R "I get that one!"

They truly did a great job with the movie, and made it a superhero flick. Then when the final mid scene came up on the screen and the Mad Titan showed up it really made the outlook of Marvel's next films that were announced make more sense. I just wish that Marvel still had the writes to do a Thanos origin correctly with the Silver Surfer.

I thought it was really good.  Worth seeing a second time in the theater.  I've always really liked Joss Whedon's work and, he delivered once again for me.

A question:  Wasn't there a script leak by Samuel L. Jackson?   I wonder what changes were made because of that.  Was the original version cooler??

I have not seen it yet.  My wife and I were all set to go this past Friday, but we had an illness in the family and did not make it.  We are going to try to go maybe this Friday.

I agree that Hulk punching Thor was cool, but Hulk treating Loki like a freaking rag doll made my year.

Actually, anything with Hulk was awesome.  As he is my favorite Marvel character it was great to see him treated right.  Ruffalo was fantastic.

He absolutely stole the movie. I knew you'd be happy.

This movie is in my all-time top 3 after 2 viewings. More to come.

It is an absolute game changer.

It was better than Cats.
Seriously. I loved it. It was completely enjoyable. I want to go see it again. Definitely Hulk was what made the movie with Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man right behind him. I'm already ready for a sequel, after I have seen this one a second time.
One thing I do want to mention is that if you have a poor memory like me, I would recommend seeing Thor and Captain America again before seeing this film. There seemed to be a lot that they brought over from those films that I don't completely remember.

I finally got to see it on this past Friday.  Absolutely loved it!  The sign of a great movie is that the running time just flies by, and this one definitely hits that mark.  Pretty much everything I could want from an Avengers movie.

Shellhead was awesome.  I really liked his little aside "...Thank you" to Hawkeye during the battle in New York.  I thought that was subtle and awesome.  I liked how the Widow was handled.  Cap and Thor were great.  And Hulk was damn amazing!  I loved him going all HULK SMASH on everything.

My wife is no comics fan, but she likes the Marvel movies, and she too really dug the movie.

My only complaint (and its very minor) is that it is a hair too jokey in parts.  But the gravitas in other parts easily outweigh that.

Right up there with Iron Man as my favorite superhero movie ever.

I love the first Iron Man movie, yeah. But it had, what-- maybe 10-12
cool moments overall?

This movie had 10-12 cool moments every five minutes!

I think this just blows everything that came before it out of the
water. It raises the bar exponentially for those to come.

I'm going to have a hard time re-watching the individual set-up movies
now. They'll seem so... small... In comparison...

I will agree that it raises the bar.  Of that there is no doubt.  I have no faith in The Dark Knight Rises, but Man Of Steel (for instance) is going to have to raise it's game several notches if it wants to compete.

To me Iron Man had more heart (no pun intended), but Avengers was the bigger spectacle.  So I love them both for different reasons.

Avengers was like an old Giant-Size Avengers come to life in front of my eyes.  That's the best way I can describe it.

I'm with you here Luke. The thing i most love about the first Iron Man film was the fact that i expected so little, but was rewarded with so much! Until Iron Man came out, the Marvel pantheon of heroes had been represented ok, maybe even well, in a fun kind of way for that time. We had seen the Tobey Spider-Man, and Fox's X-Men and these were...good, for that time. But Iron Man showed that there was a lot left and that it could be done VERY WELL. Now, in retrospect the Tobey Spider-Man and Fox X-Men stuff looks pale and thin and most all of us fan boys are hoping Marvel can get the rights to these franchises back to see what they could do with them.

As far as Iron Man is concerned, I would like to give Jon Favreau the credit. From what I know about him, he has a small level of geekdom to him and I believe he wanted to deliver a fanboy movie.
The same for Avengers. I give Joss Whedon the credit because he is a geek. He knows the Marvel universe being that he has written for them in the past. I know he is a fanboy and wanted a fanboy movie that would also appeal to the non-fanboys out there and he hit a homerun.
