I found this interesting.  If you like Disney, or technology for events, this might be of interest.

Yeah, the Disney boards have been abuzz with the trials of the Fastpass+ and the RFID-equipped room keys.

The bands are a neat idea that hadn't made it to the rumor boards yet. Lots of potential, there!

I really like the wristbands.  As it is keycards for your room serve as your "plan" card if you purchase a dining plan on site, so this seems like a logical extension of that.  And you don't need to fumble it out of your wallet when you use it, you just have it on your wrist ready to go.

The value of Fastpass+ to me seems to be the Fireworks viewing reservation.  That can get very difficult as the best spots fill up quickly, so this to me is more useful than dining reservations (normally if you make your reservations in the morning you are alright) or rides (the normal Fastpass system works well for this already).  Character greetings are also very good if you have kids who want to meet a specific character.  (My boys wanted to meet Mickey so there is already a dedicated meeting attraction for him and Minnie; there are no walkabouts for Lightning McQueen and Mater, heh.*)

Great find Shag!

*The boys did get to "meet" Lightning and Mater at the Art of Animation resort's "Cars" area, which is themed like Radiator Springs and has 3/4's scale character statues of the residents of the town.

Thanks.  Believe it or not, this came to me through work. This tangentially touches on my job.  We book some training events at Disney.
