Hello all,

Today I moved all my repositories to a new SVN server running on a linux Suse 10 server box. during the installation I had problems with ownership, and the console asked me to change all files owner and groups to an specific values of 7039:7039, and 755 permission, I did and then the repository becomes accesible for read, I can checkout freely, but when I try to commit something I got the following error:

Error: Commit failed (details follow):
Error: Could not open the requested SVN filesystem

I don't know what to do since the owner and permission is already correct.

PS: the apache is also running with the same user/group.

Any tip?? Thanks!

That is preity simple answer. But I need one infromation from you.

How did you migrate repository from one server to other server.

Inface this issue occurs due to compatiblity. Means if you have
repository on one different flavour on linux and just do copy and
paste the repository while commit error will surely occur due to FSFS
filesystem compatiblity. So it matters how did you do copy or move the
repository.

Check the apache error logs and double check the file system
permissions. Did you do the chown recursively?

Hello, thanks for your replay,

well, I did what I though was the most correct to do: used the commend dump at the original resporitories, then I created a new repositorie and issued the command "load --force-uuid" into the new one.

At the point I have no access to the repositorie, I checked the log and I found the the new repositorie should be owned by 7039:7039, I did this and then it becomes accessible for checkout, log, and some others "read" operations, but not for commit, in this case I got the error I've mencionated.

If you need some more information let know.

Hi,

I just tried again and I found this into the log file:

[Mon Jul 25 18:05:52 2011] [error] [client 187.104.161.105] (20014)Internal erro
r: Can't open file '/usr/local/svnroot/gpsserv/format': Permission denied

the permission to the menssionated file 'format' is okay, in fact I changed to 666 and then to 777 and got the same error.
