I love my chickens but we live in Cheyenne Canyon and are under siege by bears! It's too stressful for the chickens and for us. Looking for a good home - meaning you will take good care of them, not butcher them or neglect them - for my 4 sweet ladies. 3 Partridge Barnvelders and 1 Buff Cornish. Strong layers usually but with the bears I'm only getting 1-2 eggs/day. Usually 3-4.

If you are new to this, I have a wonderful setup - strong, enclosed chicken run (former dog run) that has withstood multiple bear attacks plus a great coop with easy access. Also hanging metal feeder and waterer. I paid $600 for the setup but will sell for $350. And you can have what's left of my supplies for free.

Momma Cat.

I would love to add your chickens to my group, but would have to wait until after

August 24th. I am armpit deep in the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon, and will not have time to addequately prepare the space and separate living quaters they would need until they are

more "familiar" with my existing flock.

So, all that being said, hust keep me on your list, but please, please, let them go to someone else

if you find a great place for them sooner.

Thanks,

susan

Hi Susan!  Good luck with the Ascent and Marathon - I ran the Ascent several years ago and had a blast!  Enjoy!

You sound like a nice person who knows chickens so it would be nice if we can work something out.  I'll be gone Aug 23-28 and was hoping to place them before that so I don't need to line up a chicken-sitter but it's more important to me to find a home that will be good for them long-term.  So I'll let you know if I find something else but otherwise will plan on moving them to you after I get back.

Thanks!
Helena
