I have an exterior iSight plugged in via Firewire. It did work for a short time. I have tried various troubleshooting tips and it still does not work. Firewire cable is delivering something as iSight is getting hot but no light on top and not detected in System Profiler. I have a Mac Mini with cinema display and iSight is plugged into firewire port on cinema display. The alternative is a different video camera for my set up. Any suggestions?

The only firewire port on Mac Mini is in use by something else.

Am I missing something here. Do I unplug cinema display and plug in iSight to Mac Mini?

No difference. In system profiler/hardware/firewire I get message "unable to list firewire devices'.
